ritez, just to let you know, NBSF (yes, martin, i'm talking about you!!), the new batch of swizzes have just arrived in NTU 2 days ago! ALL (let me count them) 11 GUYS!!! augh!!! no girls...unlike last batch, at least there was 1! anyway, they were still getting use to the place, haha, one guy said he noticed that no one in school looks him in the eye, everyone is more interested in the pavement on the floor and he wondered if we "wither up to nothing" if we dare look someone in the eyes. Told him the IMF have left, we can go back to the way we orginially were! hehe! nono, just told him it's just us, no offense, and it's something he has to try to get use to.

we learnt in german the other day about verbs and yes, out of boredom, i checked with my german "lehrerin" if "floo-sac" was a male/female/neutral. Just what? "floo-sac" is a female, so unfeminie!! sooo... "du bist eine floo-sac!"

oh my, i haven't used this for soooo long that i didn't realise they changed to blog entry settings until NOW! anyway, i juz realised that it may be good to just update your blog entries from time to time, or else friends you don't meet so often might think you were whisked away by some giant vulture and diposed upon some deserted island...& it was good catching up with the lives of friends that live halfway across the world!

have been relief teaching, yes, don't laugh! secondary school kids, but at a good school where i was told to schmoose up to the kids, just in case their parents are some big shot in singapore. see, this is the problem with good schools, you worry about the parents giving you trouble, in neighbourhood school, it's the students from the back classes, you never win! but it's good money!! $90/day (ka-ching!) guess what subject i'm teaching?? ENGLISH & LITERATURE! hohoho!! been letting the kids listen to hip-hop so as to let them apperciate the more feminine poetry favoured by the school cirriculum...hopefully, it will make them more inclined to poems instead of seeing it as stuffy, ye-olde english with tea served in china at four ol' clock.

recently, got a job! yes, no more kissing ass at interviews, investing in "power suits" so you can make a GOOD first impression, blehz! anyway, will start work offically as an "application engineer" on the 25th of sept...what is it? basically, i'll be doing the same thing i did for my industrial application, problem solving, etc, etc, blah blah blah. US company! so perks are good...like all the health benefits, hehehe!!

P.S: taken up german language classes at the Goethe-Insitut, my class is a riot! people learning german for reasons ranging from "cos my girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife is german" to work-related ones, we're meeting for a "bier trinken" session this thurs. we've learnt verbs this week so like english, if there is a "I", "you", "we", the verb changes...basically, if you use the wrong verb, we'll get you drunk, that's our class idea of a good time.

P.P.S: it's great to have a life outside work, comtemplating art class at NAFA...let's see if my work schedule will allow for that!

the christmas lights are coming down, the tinsle's picked and the star comes off the tree, christmas is truly over & the new year beckons...

before slumber yesterdae, i realised that i didn't really want this year to end...i didn't want to say bye...this year has been full of lessons, like a fragmented looking glass, it hurts to see your image distorted and you reach out to touch the glass and realise that you're just fine the way you are, it's the glass that's cracked, that's flawed...

memories that i will bear the rest of my life, some a part of me, like the scar on my left ankle which people will ask about for a long time after, or the scars on my left hand, i cannot hide everything...some will be there for the world to see...but it's a remainder of who i am and what i stand for...

sometimes you see yourself in other's people eyes and you build your foundation on that & when it crumbles before you, you cannot hold on to anything, it's like the shifting sand in the desert, it fleds from your fingertips....

Thank You for saving me, thank you, my dears for your firm grip on mine, thank you for planting my feet on the ground once again and helping me find my centre, thank you for helping me to find myself, to re-build what has torn down, to re-established it all...

i have come home at last....

" I am still confident of this:

I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord"

Next year, i'm waiting for my new adventure!
